Priscilla Lynn Verner, 83, went home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2026. She was born in Walsenburg, Co. on June 14, 1943, to Joseph and Marguerite Dratter. She attended St. Mary High School in Walsenburg and graduated in 1961. She received her Physical Therapy degree at the Medical Center Colorado University Boulder.

Priscilla retired from CommonSpirit St. Mary Corwin & St. Anthony Hospital after 56 years as a physical therapist. Priscilla’s claim to fame was helping hundreds of ortho patients walk again! She was a very proud health care worker and was always interested and delighted following the progress when patients were recovering. She was a very happy, generous soul with an infectious laugh and great personality.

Walsenburg, Colorado always remained close to her heart. She loved the community, people and traditions of her hometown. She always shared the love of Christ with all, and lived a life deeply rooted in Scripture and prayer. She was a devoted member of both Christ the Kingand St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Priscilla was a member of the Pueblo Pepper Steppers Square Dance club, which she enjoyed immensely. She was on the board of directors for the franchise for the Miss America System, Miss Huerfano County and Miss Pueblo County Scholarship pageants.

Priscilla treasured her 1969 Mercury Cougar. She enjoyed anything Elvis Presley, mystery and romantic stories, The Pantry restaurant, Banquet Schusters bakery, angel food cake, tacos and ice cream.

Priscilla is survived by cousins: Mary Lou Coughlin, Lisa (Robert Carlson) Coughlin, Mary (Pat) Dodge, Patsy (Ray Ahles) Davis, Kylie Carlson, Stacey (Jared) Schaller, Shelby, Savannah and Zoey; as well as numerous other friends and past coworkers who will miss her dearly.

Priscilla is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Marguerite Dratter, husband Jon Verner and her beloved son Jay Verner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Friday, October 9, 2026, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1708 Horseshoe Dr., Pueblo, CO 81001. Inurnment at South Saint Mary Cemetery in Walsenburg, Co. Online condolences and memories may be offered at www.MontgomerySteward.com.
