Phyllis Anne Kelly, born December 19th, 1929, to John and Winifred Edwards, passed away on July 28th, 2015, at the age of 85. Phyllis was raised with her four siblings in Shoals, Indiana and attended college in Greeley, Colorado. After college, Phyllis was a Fire Watcher in Idaho and taught kindergarten and first grade for many school districts including 21 years at District 70. Phyllis was a passionate educator and a creative artist who captured the great landscapes of Southwest. Phyllis enjoyed 30 years of retirement by enjoying the companionship of her sister, Gwen Boyer, and friend, Shirley Schwab, as well as spending time with her family and friends. Phyllis was very fond of animals, bird watching, the outdoors, and creating art with the Wednesday painters group of Colorado City. She will be remembered for her kindness, passion for art and nature, and caring personality. Phyllis is survived by her sister, Gwen Boyer; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon Kelly-Lung, Ben Lung; grandchildren, Michael Kelly, John (Melissa Berrett) Moore, Vincent (Allysha) Moore; nephew, Brian (Tammy) Boyer; former son-in-law, Douglas Moore; and former daughter-in-law, Mary Kay Deverich.
