Phyllis Almerine (Brink) Malady, 81, passed away of natural causes on July 2, 2011, in Pueblo, Colo.
Phyllis was born March 13, 1930, and grew up in Mitchell, S.D. She moved to Great Falls, Mont. when she married her husband, Bernard 'Pete' Malady. They remained in Great Falls for more than 30 years where she worked in sales at J.C. Penney's and Montgomery Ward and spent years working as a teacher's aide at Meadowlark Elementary. After retiring and spending several years in Pete's hometown of White Lake, S.D., they moved to Kennewick, Wash., in 1997, to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Phyllis recently moved to Pueblo, Colo.
Survived by her son, Michael (Karen) of Pueblo West, Colo.; daughter, Shelly (Greg) Chema of Placerville, Calif.; granddaughter, Kimberlee Nuxoll of Boise, Idaho; grandsons, Scott Chema of Los Angeles, Calif. and Chris Chema of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; great-grandson, Jordan Nuxoll of Boise, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Pete Malady; brother, Don Brink of Mitchell, S.D.; sister, Vi Hanten of White Lake, S.D.; parents, Anton Madsen Brink and Helen Johnson Brink of Mitchell, S.D.
Her memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011, at the United Methodist Church in White Lake, S.D. Interment, Silver Ridge Cemetery in Stickney, S.D.

I just read about Phyllis and both of you should know that you took good care of Phyllis. While she was here in the Kennewick area you were always doing things for her. You now have to take care of yourselves and know that she is in a better place.
