Pauline Mary (Boman) Neu, 87, of Pueblo, Colo., passed into eternal rest Jan. 21, 2012, at her home. Pauline is survived by her husband, of 67 years, Dan; children, Larry (Mary Bea) of Craig, Colo, Darrell (Leanne) of Pueblo, Colo, and Alecia (Darrell) Kraupie of Bridgeport, Neb; grandchildren, Kristen, Del, and Hardan Kraupie, all of Bridgeport, Neb, Joshlyn (Matt) Moser of Gering, Neb., Lindsey Neu and Andrea Neu, both of Pueblo, Matt (Carol) Vassek of Bluff City, Tenn., Martin Vassek of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Melody (Albert) Villard of Craig, Colo; god-granddaughter, Lindsey Kawcak; great-grandchildren, Kelton, Chloe, Rylee, and Tess Villard of Craig, Colo; sisters, Bernice New of Elizabeth, Colo, Annamarie Boman of Bridgeport, Neb.; and numerous special in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Harry Boman; brother, Loren H. Boman; and great-grandson, Cadan Jacob Kraupie.
Pauline was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Oshkosh, Neb. to Dan and Pearl (Jergensen) Boman. She attended Eastwood School near Broadwater, Neb. and graduated from Broadwater High School in 1942. She then took Normal School training and went on to teach school at several country schools.
Pauline married Daniel F. Neu on Sept. 24, 1944, at Camp Wolters, Mineral Wells, Texas. After World War II, Dan and Pauline returned to western Nebraska, worked, and started their family. Pauline was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband in their construction and farming operations. In 1968, they moved to Pueblo where they continued to farm until they purchased Pueblo Sanitation in 1976. Pauline worked in the office of the business until retirement. She was involved in many activities including Rebekahs, where she was a Past Noble Grand; Order of Eastern Star #260, Bridgeport, Neb.; PEO, Chapter FW; Daughters of the Nile; Shriners Ladies; Pueblo County Republican Women; American Historical Society of German's from Russia; member of Tabor Lutheran Church; home extension clubs; bible study; and bridge clubs. Pauline enjoyed traveling the world and stopping along the way to visit family and friends, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards and dominoes with family and friends. There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Tabor Lutheran Church, 102 E. Orman Ave., with Pastor Cindy Josephson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Al Kaly Shriners (Children's Hospital) Transportation Fund through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, CO 81003.
