Pauline I. Hilvitz, 97, passed away May 30, 2007. Survived by her children, Harvey (Sandy) Hilvitz of Pueblo, Art (Margie) Hilvitz of Pueblo and Philip (Joni) Hilvitz of Castle Rock, Colo.; grandchildren, Bruce Hilvitz, Lisa Hilvitz, Stephanie (Greg Rodriquez) Hilvitz, Tammy (Andy) Brennan, Larry Schrock, Tracy (Bruce) Patch, Todd (Vicki) Hilvitz, Corinne (Benjamin) Clower, Lynette (Joey) Simon, Heidi (Mark) Leachman and Brent (Jennifer) Hilvitz; and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Sam Hilvitz in 2000; parents, Harry and Rosie Stein; sisters, Bertha Rosenbleet and Henrietta Rueb. Pauline was born July 4, 1909, in Pueblo. She taught in county schools and at Bradford and Fountain Elementary schools. Pauline and her husband co-founded Boston Food Products. Pauline was a member of Temple Emanuel. She was committed to the betterment of Pueblo by volunteering for many organizations. To name a few, she served on the YWCA Board, member of O.E.S., Daughters of the Nile and was past president of Hattie Koperlik B'nai B'rith Women's Auxiliary. The family thanks special friends and caregivers, Debbie Rich, Geri Martinez and Frances Jiron; doctors and staff at Parkview Hospital and the staff at Pueblo Extended Care for the care they gave Pauline. Funeral service, 2 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2007, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with Cantor Birdie Becker presiding. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, in Pauline's memory, to Temple Emanuel through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, Colo. 81003.
