Patricia Ellen Lantz Acker, 90, passed away, Dec. 21, 2015. Survived by her children, Cassandra (Larry) Strotheide of Aurora, Lance (Toni Yagami) Acker of Denver, Ellis (Debbie) Acker of Penrose and Emily Acker (Marisol) Quintana of Oakland, Calif.; sisters, Virginia Algermissen of Marshall, Mo. and Barbara (Warren deceased) Pearson of Pueblo; in-Laws, Donald (Jean deceased) Acker of Palm Coast, Fla. and John (Marie deceased) Acker of Anaheim, Calif.; grandchildren, Andrew Strotheide, Craig Acker, Jeremy Acker, Lara Strotheide, Jonathan Acker, and Laurentina and Jessica Acker Quintana; three great-grandchildren; and 10 nieces and nephews.Preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Acker; and sister-in-law, Catherine Blauvelt. Patricia 'Pat' was born on Feb. 17, 1925. in Kearney. Neb. where she grew up as one of three daughters to Ray J. and Effie Johnston Lantz. A graduate of The University of Colorado, she worked as a librarian (most recently at McClelland Library in Pueblo). Married on June 10, 1947, Patricia was a devoted wife for 64 years to Charles (an educator for District 60) and a loving mother to four children. The family moved to Pueblo in 1955. They were active members at Church of the Ascension. Pat was a member of PEO and at one time belonged to the League of Women Voters. She was an avid reader and took pleasure in maintaining relationships through letters to many extended family members and friends. She appreciated the fine arts and frequently attended the many cultural activities that Pueblo offers. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling, particularly to Great Britain and Ireland. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at Church of the Ascension, 18th and Grand, Pueblo, the Rev. Rachel Wenner-Gardner officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Church of the Ascension Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association- Colorado Chapter, 455 Sherman St., Suite 500, Denver, CO 80203.
