Nick DeSalvo, Jr., 85, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Oct. 7, 2013. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Wilma; children, Fred (Jette) DeSalvo of Garden City, Kans., Mary Ann (Dan) Garcia of Pueblo, Colo., and Nick C. (Michelle) DeSalvo of Casper, Wyo.; beloved grandchildren, Dan and Jeff Garcia, C.D., Nicole and David DeSalvo; great-granddaughter, Natalie Garcia; brother, Gene DeSalvo; sisters-in-law, Betty Cole and Carolyn (Norman) Sorensen. Preceded in death by his parents, Domenica and Nicola DeSalvo; sister, Vera Puleo; brothers, Sam, James, Carmen and Joe DeSalvo; sisters-in-law, Mayme, Kay, Vivian and Sharon DeSalvo, Leta Niemisto, D'Alva, Grace, Wilma Dean Shroyer and Louise Shroyer; brothers-in-law, Frank Vendetti, Joe Puleo, Merle Niemisto, Fred Jr., Kenneth, Jack, Daniel and Dale Shroyer. Nick was born July 14, 1928, in Pueblo, Colo. He graduated from Pleasant View High School, Pueblo Jr. College and Adam's State College. He taught school for 33 years, retiring in 1983. He is an Army veteran and served in Korea from 1951 to 1953. Nick and his family farmed on the St. Charles Mesa for many years. Visitation, 5-8 p.m. Friday, Montgomery & Steward Funeral Home.
