Neva Jean Shearer

Neva Jean Shearer passed away on August 30, 2026, in Parker, Colorado. She was seventy-nine years old. She was predeceased by her parents, Huston and Lorene Shearer of Pueblo. Her remaining family consists of her brother, Dennis (Neta Sue) Shearer of Pueblo; nieces Amanda (Larry) Anderson; children, Troy, Kylie and Jason of Parker, and Rebeckah (Frank) Cortese, children Ava and AJ of Pueblo.

Neva was born April 8, 1947, and was raised in Pueblo. She left to go to college, graduating from UNC, Greeley, and received a Master’s degree from CSU, Fort Collins. She taught home economics at Leadville High School for twenty years. While in Leadville she restored a 1890’s Victorian house, which was the home of her dreams. After leaving Leadville, she went back to school getting a second Master’s degree in Accounting from CU, Denver. She worked in that field for twenty more years. She was a pianist and an excellent seamstress.
