Resided in: Pueblo, CO

Nancy J. Jackson was a gentle and caring person who didn't complain about her physical ailments that took so much away from her life. She was a loving wife and mother and raised a talented and wonderful family, but also found time to give service to others. One of her joys was being a volunteer teachers's aide for many years at Jefferson School. Nancy attended CU Boulder, but marriage and children got in the way of graduation, and she was proud of going back later in life and completing her degree at the SCSC Pueblo. She was a talented artist, but put her family obligations ahead of pursuing that career. A devoted animal lover, another of her great joys was walking with her German Shepherds. Nancy is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter, Carolyn Jackson Hilton and her husband William; David Jackson and his wife Mary Lou and their children Rob (Eva), Patrick, Stephen; Jim Jackson and his wife Alice, and their children, Ashley, JR and Bryan; and great-grandchildren, Zoe and Leo. Also, she is survived by her loving, wonderful care giver, Rosalie Rivas, who made this last part of her life as good as it could be; by lifelong friend, Jo Alber; by Dr. Michael Rendler, whose care and attention was above and beyond; and by the caring staff of Parkview SW3. Predeceased by her parents, Katherine and Fred Hunicke; and her husbands parents, Margaret and R.L. Jackson. Nancy was a beautiful person inside and out, thoughtful and caring, with few, if any, bad words for anyone. She gave more than she received, and life treated her badly with physical problems, but she didn't complain. All of us loved her so much, and will love her in our hearts and minds forever, and miss her presence with every day that goes by. If you are inclined to give a memorial in her memory, her favorites that she helped were: Animal Care Facilities in Pueblo, the Rawlings Library, the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center and the Pueblo Zoo, through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, CO 81003. Memorial service, 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Praise Assembly, 2000 Troy with the Pastor Bobby J. Wilson officiating.
