Minta Mae Phillips, 83, passed away peacefully on Nov. 7, 2011. Mae was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Tacoma, Washington. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, David; children, Linda (John) Ellis and Tom (Lenora) Phillips, both of Pueblo. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Andrea, Christie, Greg, Cassandra and Alicia; and one great-grandson, Hunter. Mae graduated from Ball State Teachers College in 1951. She married David on Aug. 17, 1952, in Muncie, Indiana. The family moved to Pueblo in 1971. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. She was also a real estate agent for several years before she took up woodworking. She especially enjoyed making furniture for her grandchildren. Mae loved gardening, traveling with her husband and grandkids, and enjoyed attending CSU-Pueblo basketball games. The family will have a private ceremony to celebrate Mae's life. In lieu of food and flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 310 W. 11th St. or the Alzheimer's Association, 4104 Outlook Blvd. Bldg. B, Pueblo, CO 81008-1870.     Sorry to hear about grandmommy. I will always remember and cherish the wooden toys and trinkets that you and grandmommy made for us. I remember helping in the wood shop and playing downstairs with the wooden blocks. The wooden blocks that you made for my sisters and I are still in use by my children today. We plan to vist soon. My condolences.
