Mildred J. Core-Shattuck, 85, passed away Sept. 3, 2010. Survived by her sons, Lew C. (Nancy) Core of Pueblo and Larry Shattuck of Holland, Mich.; good friend and companion, Les Frey of Pueblo; brother, Art Gottbehuet of Pueblo; sister, Mary Lou Jensen of Falls Church, Va.; grandson, Sean C. Core; step-grandchildren, Jeremy Stewart, Joshua Stewart, Jesse Turner, Erin McConnel, Callie Willburn and Joshua Willburn; nephew, Larry Gottbehuet; niece, Marjie K. Jensen; and numerous friends. Preceded in death by husbands, Howard Core and Guy T. Shattuck; and sister, Kathryn L. Pisciotta. Mildred was born March 30, 1925, in Pueblo to Claude and Ellen Gottbehuet. Her pride and joy was her family. Longtime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she was active with the Women's Circle and a member of P.E.O Chapter FW. Viewing, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon prior to the service at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Montgomery & Steward Banquet Hall. Funeral service, 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with John Stroh and Gaylon Bridges officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice or Colorado Parkinsons Foundation through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, CO 81003.
