Michael John Smith, 73, passed away Oct. 27, 2018. Survived by wife of 46 years, Darlene Smith; children, Justin (Shelby) Smith and Kelli Jo (Michelle Inge) Smith; granddaughter, Parker W. Smith; siblings, Carol Smith, Sue (Reid) French, Earl (Irene) Smith, Bill (Rhonda) Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; and siblings, Mary (Jim) Sanderson and Eddie Smith. Michael was born to Edwin M. and Ruby (Shaw) Smith in Trinidad, Colo. on Oct. 31, 1944. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, sporting clays, wood working, hunting pheasants and doves, was an avid reader and served in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves. Celebration of life, 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, in the Montgomery & Steward Banquet Hall. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to the Parker Smith College Fund. Only now, I read of Mike’s passing..Pat’s and my condolences.
Darlene and kids, the passing of Mike comes as big shock to me. He was a good friend for so many years and mentor for me throughout most of my career in the FAA. Our condolences to the you all and you are all in our hearts.

Mike was a friend and I will miss him. I wish we could have been closer over the past years. We had a lot of good times in SLC so many years ago.
Sorry to hear about Mike, Darlene. I hope you are doing ok. I think old age is fast catching up to our group.
