Michael Jefferson Ward, 60, of Pueblo West, Colo., went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 25th of 2005. Preceded in death by his parents, Lois M. Neeper and E.J. Ward; and infant grandchildren, Tad and Sue Ward. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Dene Ward. Mike and Dene have 7 children including, Vickie (Juan) Duran of Carlsbad, N.M., F. Craig (Kathy) Ward of Aurora, Colo., Robert Ward of Arlington, Texas, Jodene (Chris) Stokely of Pueblo, Colo. Steve (Billi) Warren of Cañon City, Colo., Kim Warren (Gerald) of Pueblo, Colo. and Mike(Heather) Warren of Pueblo, Colo.; sisters, Dorothy Wydell of Arlington, Texas, Wilma Orchard of Tulsa, Okla., Dale (Joe) Hankins of Pueblo, Colo. Linda (Bobby) Jackson of Borger, Texas, Diane Self (Mike) of Pueblo, Colo.; brothers, Jeff (Monty) Ward of Dallas, Texas; Gene (Doris) Ward of Kemp, Texas and E.J. (Eva) Ward of Palestine, Texas. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Lois Butler; brother-in-law, Chuck (Debbie) Babcock; and sister-in-law, Mart (Bill) Smith, all of Lamar, Colo. Mike will be greatly missed by his 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends to numerous to name. Special mention are longtime friends, Gary (Louise) Mitchell of Anderson, Mo. and Jim Campbell of Amarillo, Texas. Mike spent many years in the Kirby business and later as a truck driver. His talents were many, but nothing as prominent as his love for life and of his family and friends. Mike's winning smile and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Southwest Church of Christ, 1635 S. Pueblo Blvd. Mike's final resting place will be Mountain View Cemetery. Aunt Dene,
Uncle Mike will forever be etched in our hearts for the loving and gentle man he was. You will always be etched in our hearts for your unfailing devotion to Uncle Mike, especially during those very difficult days toward the end. You’re the picture of “grace under fire”, and your courage and strength is commended. God Bless you and the kids and we love you all so very much.
