Michael James McNally was born February 9, 1960 and went to be with his lord on February 5, 2025. He is survived by his sister Kathy (Henderson) Nicholls of Pueblo, his brother from another mother, Dave (Dana) Louderbaugh of of Fair Grove, Missouri, and his five children: Lynn (Danny) Calkins, Leah McNally, David (Grace) McNally, Sean McNally, and James (Irene) McNally. He is also survived by his 11 grand children: Danielle, Megan, and Daniel Calkins; Elizabeth and Emily Shafer; Kali, Will and Connor McNally; Alannah, Ilyssa and Callan McNally. He is also survived by Laura McNally, his friend and the mother of his children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Verlene McNally, grandparents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He graduated from Buffalo High School in Buffalo Missouri in 1978 and gradually over the years made his way back to Colorado with his family. Michael would say that his greatest accomplishment was his children and often shared “I got really lucky with my kids.“ He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and could often be seen at their school and sporting events. He was a great little brother, who helped his sister in many ways as she maneuvered life, walking her down the aisle, at her second marriage, and becoming kind of a big brother to her husband, helping him acclimate to moving and living in the United States.

Michael also coached soccer for several years for Heaton middle school in Pueblo and loved working with those kids. He loved being approached and hearing the words “Coach?”

For the past two years, Michael valiantly fought ALS until he could fight no longer, and it was time to give up and go home to be with the Lord and family who have gone before him. He is no longer broken in his body, he can stand upright, walk, run, talk with everyone again, and oh yes, drink coffee.

Cremation, with his remains being returned to Missouri, where he was truly happy. The family will receive friends at his sister’s home on February 15 from 1-4pm. Please stop by and share your memories of him.
