Merwyn C. Woodyard, 92, passed away July 1, 2006, in Pueblo, Colorado. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Pearl Woodyard; sons, Wayne Woodyard of Pawhusha, Okla. and Ron Woodyard; daughter-in-law, Christine Woodyard of Dallas, Texas; sister, Bessie Katherine Olson of Bluegrass, Iowa; grandchildren, Nathan Woodyard, Nicholas Woodyard, Chantal (Steve) Woodyard-Parks and Michelle (Brian) Flaharty; great-grandchildren, Chloe Woodyard-Parks and Claire Woodyard-Parks; numerous nieces and nephews. Merwyn was born to Lewallace and Pearl Woodyard on June 29, 1914, in Chanute, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of VFW Post 3641. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Colorado State Hospital for 19 years. Viewing in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel Wednesday, July 5, 2006, from 2 to 4 p.m. A private interment and military honors by Pueblo Veterans' Ritual Team will be held.
