Melva Fay Orgill

Melva Fay McDonald Orgill, 89, passed away December 20, 2012, in Garden Grove, California. Survived by children, Kathryn Barnhurst, Lynn Orgill, Craig Orgill, Ruth Funk; 17 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Douglas Harold Orgill. Melva was born Nov. 5, 1923, in Logan, Utah, to Howard S. And Ella Gibbs McDonald. She received a BS degree from UC Berkley, Masters degree and graduate work at Colombia University, BYU and Long Beach State University, Long Beach. Melva was an instructor at Long Beach City College, teaching Clothing and Textiles. She was a very active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and spent much of her time serving others. She enjoyed sewing for her many grandchildren and visiting her extended family with her husband. Service, 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, Church of Latter Day Saints, 1411 Fortino Blvd., Pueblo, CO.
