Mel R. Sherar, 85, passed away August 11, 2018. Survived by wife, Ellen (Robertson) Sherar; sister, Betty (Sherar) Campbell; sons, Marlen, Timothy and Daniel (Jana) Sherar; daughters, Robin Arbster and Shelly Walter; granddaughters, Megan Arbster and Arleigh Espinoza; grandsons, Matthew, Evan and Luke Sherar; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Johnny, Alvin and baby Ray Sherar. Mel was born to G.M. and Sarah (Neufeld) Sherar on March 11, 1933, in Weatherford, Okla. He worked at Santa Fe Railway, Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, State of Oklahoma, retired as District Director of the Indiana Office of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service of the International Trade Administration-U.S. Department of Commerce. Mel enjoyed the mountains, Christian music, birds (especially eagles), family and friends and sharing the importance and joy of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He was a member of Pueblo First Church of the Nazarene. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Saturday, August 18, at Pueblo First Church of the Nazarene, 84 Stanford Ave. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to Pueblo First Church of the Nazarene, 84 Stanford Ave., Pueblo, CO 81005.     It is with great sadness that Isabel and I read about Mel’s passing. I always enjoyed my visits with him, his stories and humor. He was a hard working and generous man who loved life, his country, our God and his family. We are truly sorry for your loss. I will miss him but he always be in my heart and mind. May God bless and guide you thru this trying time.
