May Marie Shearer, 97, passed away April 13, 2008. Survived by her stepchildren, Dennis (Susie) Shearer of Pueblo and Neva Shearer of Parker, Colo.; nephew, Bill (Patty) Lahman of Buena Vista, Colo.; niece, Mary Lou Buffington of Wyoming; great-nephews and niece, Scott, Bruce and Stephanie Reutner; step-grandchildren, Becky (Frank) Cortese of Pueblo and Mandy (Larry) Anderson of Parker; and step-great-grandchildren, Ava Bella Cortese, Kylie and Jason Anderson. Preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd Lahman and second husband, W. Huston Shearer. May was born to Charles and Hattie Ross on May 31, 1910, in Florence, Colo. She owned and operated an interior decorating shop and held a prominent position with the VFW Auxiliary in Colorado, while living in Buena Vista. She was also a member of First Southern Baptist Church, in Pueblo. Small in stature, Marie was dubbed 'Bunches of love' by her father. Her family then nicknamed her 'Bunchie.' There will be no viewing and a private graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs will be held. Online condolences, MontgomerySteward.com
