Maxine Read, 92, passed away April 13, 2012. Survived by her children, Richard (Kathy) Read of Colorado Springs, David (Judy) Read of Pueblo and Gary (Laura) Read of Los Alamos, N.M.; grandchildren, Shelly (Erik) Forsythe, Christopher (Jennifer) Read, Andrew Read, Megan Read, Erin Read, Tana (Scott) Luna and Natalie (Brian) Griffin; nine great-grandchildren, Avery and Owen Forsythe, Shannon, Dustin and Dylan Luna, Luke, Ty, Hunter and Nicole Gray Griffin. Preceded in death by her husband of 49½ years, Willis W. Read; and grandsons, Michael Scott Chadwell and Chad James. Maxine was born May 15, 1919, in Gage, Okla. to Marion and Lillie Mitchell. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she served as secretary for several years. At her request, there will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pueblo First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund or Joni Fair Hospice House, through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. I was saddened to read of Maxine,s passsing and I want to send you my deepest sympathy. I knew her when she was secretary at FUMC. She was a good secretary – she knew everybody and was always willing to help you. May you have many good memories – memories are such treasures. sincerely, Adah Phelps
