Maxine Bruce (Shirley) 8/16/1913 - 7/11/2019. One of Pueblo's longest living residents passed away five weeks before her 106th birthday. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sandra Bruce; grandchildren, Ariane Bruce and Carl Bruce IV; great grandchildren, Bryce Fudge, Dylan Fudge, Eve Bruce and Carl Bruce V; and grandnephew, David Morris and family. She was preceded in death by her children, Kay Bruce, Carl Bruce III, Gary Bruce; and her husband, Carl Bruce Jr. We will all miss such an inspiring person. Memorial Service, 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2019, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery.
Warm thoughts to all of Maxine’s family. She & Carl lived across the alley from us (my parents Clara & Emil Miller) and I have strong memories of playing with Gary as a child. Maxine & Carl were always so warm and welcoming and so kind to the little girl across the alley. My sympathies to you all. So remarkable that she lived to be almost 106!!
