Maureen Kate Maroney, our beloved daughter, sister, and friend returned back to our Heavenly Father, due to complications of cancer, on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at her home in Rye, Colorado. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Maureen was a special baby born on January 14, 1981 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She graduated from East High school and worked with Pueblo Diversified Industries over 20 years. Maureen was also a honorary member of the Greenhorn Valley Lions Club and participated in many activities.
She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Rye. She received her honorary Young Women’s Medallion with help from other young women in the stake. She loved to sing church songs and participate in all of the activities.
Maureen enjoyed traveling with her mom and dad to many places, as long as it wasn’t in an airplane.
Her favorite things in life were listening to ABBA and the Dixie Chicks (attended four of their concerts) and watching Mamma Mia.
All who came into contact with her appreciated her firm handshake, hugs, and beautiful smile. Her unconditional love she showed to everybody made her beloved by all.
Maureen is survived by her parents Dennis and Paula Maroney; siblings, Denise (James) Murphy, Kevin (Anne) Maroney, Steven (Jennifer) Maroney, Robin (Steven) McCandless, Erika (Jon) Pattee, and Matthew (Janine) Maroney; 23 nieces and nephews and one great-niece.
Interment will take place at the Rye City Cemetery.

My deepest condolences for your loss. Maureen was a special favorite of mine. It is hard to think of PDI without her. She brought a special joy and happiness with her. I am sure she has a special place in heaven reserved for those who brought light to the world.
With sincerest sympathy,
May God the Father Almighty greet her with open and loving arms. May the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, wrap his arms around the entire family and assure them of His love and faithfulness and comfort them in their loss.
Hey Dennis- – -I am VERY sorry for you and Paula loss. Loosing a child is a huge thing. I can not imagine the sorrow that it must bring. Sherry and I will keep you in our prayers. Bud
I am so sorry to read of the death of Maureen, and I will miss her bright smile whenever I go to PDI. I never did see a frown on her face- I am sure Heaven is all “lit up” with her beaming smile.
