Mary Sevelina Garcia, 77, born in Raton, New Mexico, on Oct. 21, 1930, passed away peacefully at home on Tues., April 22, 2008, with family at her bedside. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee Cordova and Agnes Ortiz Cordova; sisters, Nora Espinoza and Gloria Rivera; brothers, Louis, Abe and Manual Cordova; and former husband, Theodore Duran. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Fred Garcia; children, Dr. Richard and Elizabeth Duran, John and Lena Duran, Catherine Duran and Jesse Gallegos, Ted and Elaine Duran and Loretta Duran; sister, Clara Brown Ortiz; aunt, Rebecca Coca; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Salvador Hernandez; sister-in-law, Rose Cordova; grandchildren, Jemal (Elena) Duran, David Duran, Mario Duran, Michelle (Eufemio Baca) Duran, Andrea Archibeque, Amber (Steve) Garbiso, Carianne Dregney and Vanessa Duran; great-grandchildren, Maya, Tajhi and Christiano Duran and Joshua Trujillo; nephews and nieces, Marta Rivera and Antonio Rivera and families of Puerto Rico, and Vicente Cordova, Lenore Favella, Patricia and Ben Miera, Christine and Frank Torres, Phyllis and Melvin Averett, Philip and Filbert Espinoza; along with her beloved dogs, Ferbie and Chiquita. Mary retired in 1974, and enjoyed her remaining years traveling, playing bingo with all her friends, embroidery and most importantly, being with her family. She was also a past member of the Senior Citizens and Latin Club, volunteered in several civic organizations and was a member of Holy Family Parish. We will miss her greatly and owe a debt of gratitude to her for the love she provided to her family and friends throughout her life. Via con Dios. Nos vemos en el cielo. As per her request, there will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, at Holy Family Parish, 2827 Lakeview Ave., with the Reverend Father Bob Hagen as celebrant. A reception will follow the service in the parish hall.
