Mary Rita Garcia, 96, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 24, 2018, in Lone Tree, Colo. Her husband, Faustin John Garcia, of 52 years passed away May 4, 1999. Mary was survived by her children, Norman Garcia (Sara) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Marilynn Allen (Lance) of Littleton, Colo., and Beverly Hoffenberg (Steve) of Columbine Valley, Colo. Mary was a loving grandmother to Michelle Condit (Dan), Lindsey Garcia, Matthew Garcia, Andrew Garcia, Jeff Allen (Lindsy), Jamee Chambers (Corey), Christie Lysaught (Brian), Lance Allen, Rachel Miller (Daniel), Sarah Joelle Hoffenberg, and David Hoffenberg. Her heart lovingly overflowed onto her great-grandchildren, Annabel & Grace Condit, Olivia, Mila and Charlotte Chambers, Daniel and Madeline Miller, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mary was born to Jesus and Antonia Marez in Trinidad, Colo. Mary Rita married the love of her life, Faustin John, on May 19, 1947, in Trinidad, Colo. Mary worked at The Pueblo Army Depot where she was a communications specialist until 1979. Prior to this she worked in the comptroller's office processing payroll at Fort Hill in Logan, Utah during WWII. She Communication Specialist at the Pueblo Army Depot and retired in 1972. Over the years she volunteered at Christ the King Parish where she and Faustin were charter members for over 42 years. Mary loved praying the rosary daily and had a special place in her heart for Saint Therese, Patron Saint of Missions and the Diocese of Pueblo. Visitation, 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, in the Montgomery & Steward Funeral Chapel. Recitation of the rosary, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, and the funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019. Both services will be at Christ the King Parish, 1708 Horseshoe, Pueblo, Colo. Reception to follow in the parish hall. Interment to follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colo. Memorials can be made to Christ the King Endowment Fund, 1708 Horseshoe Pueblo, CO 81001.
