Mary Margaret Ardell

Mary Margaret Carlisle 'Marty' Ardell, a native of Mount Hope, Kan. and resident of Pueblo for 65 years, died peacefully and surrounded by her family on Dec. 31, 2016, at the age of 91. After growing up on the farm with her sisters, Eena and Mildred, she worked as a riveter during World War II before moving to Boulder to begin nursing school at the University of Colorado. Fate intervened when she met Larry Ardell, fell in love, and started a journey of 47 years in partnership with Larry, together creating one of the most respected law practices in Colorado while raising a family and building a cabin. Her most treasured memories were time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Laurence Anthony 'Larry' Ardell and is survived by her three children, Jeff Ardell (Kim), Gary Ardell (Laurie) and Lynda Tenhundfeld (Mark); grandchildren, Nathan and Daniel Tenhundfeld, Sophia and Summer Ardell, Christopher and Sarah Ardell, Stacey and Heather Johnson; and great-granddaughter, Saylor. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, in the Montgomery & Steward Funeral Chapel.
