Mary Grace Barela, 91, passed away May 23, 2020 in Lakewood, Colo. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Madeline (Jim) Santos and Lou (Jim) Garbiso of Pueblo, Cindy (Dick) Annett of Littleton, Andy (Tracey) Barela of Colorado Springs and Judy (John) Feeney of Morrison; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by husband of 42 years, Rudy Barela in 1990; son, Tony Barela in 2003; and granddaughter, Katelyn Marie Wiseman in 2004. Mary was born to Moses and Frances Sena on Dec. 7, 1928, in Valdez, Colo. and was a member of St. Joseph Parish and St. Mary Help of Christians. Private family service. Online condolences,

    Before they married, I remember Rudy would come to stay with us in Trinidad so he could go up to Valdez and visit with Grace. After their marriage, Grace and I would get together when Lucas went to visit Rudy in Pueblo. I remember Grace as a nice lady. I’m glad that through our husband’s primo/friendship, we enjoyed a long-time friendship! Gracie always had a big smile and was ready to laugh!

  4. Before Grace and Rudy married, I remember Rudy would come to stay with us in Trinidad so he could see Grace in Valdez! After they married, we’d get together when Lucas wanted to visit with Rudy in Pueblo. I remember Grace as a nice woman always ready to laugh!

  7. I was so sorry 💔 to hear about Grace. I will always remember her kindness. She was a beautiful person inside and out. I feel blessed to have had her in mine and my daughter’s life. I will always remember her fondly. Rest in peace. My condolences to the Barela family.
