Mary Elizabeth Guttery

Mary E. Guttery passed away on March 13, 2001. Mary was born June 7, 1930, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emma Guttery and her sister, Hazel. Survived by her sister, Juanita Reynolds of Pueblo; niece, Carrol (Gerry) Allison; nephews, LeRoy Reynolds Jr., Danny Reynolds, Lloyd (Melodi) Reynolds, all of Pueblo and Jim (Debi) Reynolds of Cripple Creek. Also survived by grand nieces, Crystal (JJ) Soto of Washington, Amendea (Lee/U.S.A.F.) Tincher of Pueblo and Joshua Reynolds, U.S. Navy; great-great nieces and nephews, Clayton Allison, Katelyn Groves, Jerry Tincher and Nathaniel Soto. Mary served as a missionary in Brazil and Columbia, South America for many years. She received her B.A. in education in 1955 and was a teacher at Hellbeck, South Park and Hyde Park schools. Mary was a fine and dedicated teacher and touched many lives. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church for many years. She will lie in state at the funeral home Thursday from 9:00 a.m.. until 6 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2001, at the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with Pastor Ron Diaz and Pastor John Eichholz officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to New Tribes Mission through the funeral home office.
