Mary Antoinette De Nardo (nee De Grado) passed away June 7, 2001. Mary was born to Carl and Angelina De Grado (nee Cirullo) on June 5, 1917, in Pueblo, CO. Mary married Louis De Nardo on January 22, 1937. They have one son, Nick (Alice) De Nardo; granddaughters, Jolene De Nardo and Roxann De Nardo - Duncan, both of Denver; step-grandchildren, Rick, Deb and Curt Vawter and Annie, of Pueblo; great-grandchildren, Rachelle, Marcus, Michael and Reighann Duncan of Denver; step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and John-Paul Campbell, Mallore, Casey and Adam Vawter, of Pueblo. Also survived by sisters, Ann Martinelle of California, Mary Eva (John) De Nardo of Pueblo and Jo Ann Lenzini of Denver; sister-in-law, Virginia (Ray) Plowman of Phoenix; brother-in-law, Russel Pantleo of Pueblo; special nephew and nieces, Sam De Nardo and Debbie De Nardo - Been, Sherry and Vickie Plowman; numerous other nephews, nieces and other relatives. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Louis, on August 7, 2000; her parents and step-mother, Josephine De Grado; brother, Fidel; sisters, Mamie Cordo, Ann Bongirno and Bessie Pantleo. Mary was a member of Eagles Auxillary #145 and La Familia Italiana. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Mary spent most of her adult life always caring for others. Her family was the most important part of her life. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Mary's friend, Sara De Cesaro. Sara was here every week to bring communion, a little sunshine and a lot of Love. Mary will lie in state from noon until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the family present from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2001, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 900 East Routt, with Rev. Father Edward G. Pettit as celebrant. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. The family respectfully request the omission of food and that donations in memory of Mary may be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice through the funeral home.
