  1. Wow, what a bummer. I just went online to search for his # because i was way overdue for a doctor’s checkup, and I discovered that Dr. Potzler passed away last year. I am rarely comfortable with doctors’ visits, hence my procrastination, but Dr Potzler made me feel comfortable–he immediately correctly diagnosed a condition that had been previously misdiagnosed, he listened patiently to my concerns, and he was the voice of reason with all the medical misinformation out there. I was really impressed by him. My sincere condolences to the family.

  4. I am so sorry for the loss of Dr. Potzler. I will carry many fond memories of working with him in Labor and Delivery in Roswell.

  5. To the family of Dr. Mark Potzler:

You have my deepest sympathy. I just had to let you know that I was his patient for many years, and he was a wonderful doctor. About six years ago I was planning my wedding and Dr. Potzler would always ask me how it was going and then tell me he could relate to me because he had daughters. He always made his patients feel comfortable. I hurt terribly for all of you. We lost an Angel on earth and he will truly be missed by us all.

  6. My family and I send our thoughts and prayers to you all during this difficult time. Dr. Potzler was a kind man who made us feel like we were his family, not his patients. He made such an impression on us, and he will be greatly missed. My kids looked forward to seeing him because he always made them giggle with his laugh. His kind heart, gentle touch, and enormous laugh will be forever missed. All our love, The Nix Family

    Father,
    Son,
    Holy Spirit

As a Father, one has to be a good Husband first. He was. Then as a good Father, he raised a wonderful family.

As a Son, one has to have a loving Mother, he did. For a Mother to have a son she has a Family. She Did. His family loved him and he loved them.

As the Holy Spirit, He now lives with His Father, his Dad, and their Father, Jesus Christ.
His Spirit will live with us as long as we keep his memory in our hearts and minds.

We will miss him. A large hole will remain in our hearts till we are all together again with our Family. That hole will then be filled again with the love and joy he filled our lives with.

I’m going to miss you Mark, my Trinity.

    Love your Brother.

  8. Dr. Potzler was kind and understanding and always had a great laugh to lighten the drama of the day. He was more like a friend than some clinical symptoms analyst. When I would ask him how he was doing he would always laugh and say he was great – even though I wondered if that were the truth. As many of his patients, friends and I must feel now, there is a void where he once was in our lives.

  9. Jeannine

Yolie, myself, and our four boys send our deepest sympathies to you on Mark’s sudden passing. Word’s can’t express the gratitude we have for all Mark and you did for us. I could not have had a better mentor coming out of residency, and great friend. I learned so much from him, and think of him often. Mostly, we want to say that despite his passing at such a young age, we know that God will heal your hearts. We know God will give you the strength to carry forward. Mark always put his family first, and despite working as hard as he did, reminded me to do the same. For this, I am eternally grateful. If we can assist you in any way, please don’t hesitate to call us.

    Love,

Rick, Yolie, Joshua & Jacob (the twins), Jeremy, and Jonah

  10. To the family of Dr. Mark Potzler, from Peggy and Joe Jarrett.
We offer our most sincere sympathies. It is also a tribute to the family
doctor who stood by us in sickness (including cancer), came to the hospital,
and ordered the best specialists when needed. His gentle nature with our
two developmentally disabled adult sons was so appreciated. At the office
he was never rushed and devoted as much time as it took. From the time
he came to Pueblo until our last meeting, it was abundantly clear that he was
was meant to be a doctor…Thank you Doc.

  11. We are very sorry that we could not make it out to the funeral. You have our heartfelt sympahty and are in our thoughts and prayers. Please let us know if there is ANYTHING we can do.

    Love you.

I have been one of his lucky patients for about 6 years now, and was very shocked and saddened to know that he has left us for a better place. I will always remember hearing his laughter in the next room and down the hallway while waiting to see him. I even once asked him to give me a pill to make me laugh like that! I will truly miss him. 18. My deepest sympathy to Dr Potzler’s family and staff. A light has gone out for each of us. As a patient who did enjoy his laugh and positive attitude during his own struggle, he wished me the best when I shared my son left for Afghanistan in October. He always made you feel he had time for you.As a patient we were individuals not numbers.
I cannot imagine the loss the family is feeling at this time. But may it give comfort knowing others share your loss and are praying for you and with you at this time.

  19. To Dr. Potzler’s family:
My family and I very sorry for your loss. Dr. Potzler was our doctor and we felt him as part of our family. My children enjoyed talking to him and laughing, and I was ready to have him deliver my baby in couple months. My little boy thought he can order baby sister from Dr. Potzler because he will help me to deliver baby, and last time I saw him, we were laughing about it.
You lost father and husband, we lost doctor and friend, and this world lost one dear person who will be greatly missed.
    Marina

  25. We’re so sorry to hear of your loss. Dr. Potzler became our physician about 7 yrs. ago. We both felt he would listen patiently when we brought in medical articles we had read that pertained to our medications or illnesses. We never felt our concerns were just brushed aside. We will miss his laughter, and his caring medical attention he showed us when we came into his office for an appointment.

  26. Dear Potzler Family,
I am so saddened by Dr Potzler’s passing. He was always such a joy to be around. His laugh was absolutely contagious and I will miss hearing that in the clinic. My prayers are with his family as they mourn the loss of such a great man.

    Leave footprients in your heart.

  28. Jeannine and family,
I am so sorry for your loss, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. It was an honor to work for Dr. Potzler for my first 6 years at SCC. He always had us laughing and made work fun so we did not dread going to work each day. He was a truly caring and understanding Doctor and employer who will be greatly missed.

  30. Jeannine and girls – I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I know you all didn’t spend a lot of time in Lamar, but Mark was a very respected doctor there too. My mom felt highly of him as well.

  31. Dear Potzler family: My dear mom had Dr. Potzler for her doctor and she made him laugh and we loved that laugh of his. We could hear him laughing in the hall and she’d smile. He took care of her real good and she really liked him. She passed on last year and now maybe they will both say Hi in the world beyond. He told us he enjoyed seeing her because she made his day. So very sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to you during this difficult time. May this wonderful man rest in peace now. God Bless him and his whole family.

  32. DEAR POTZLER FAMILY,
WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS MY SORROW UPON HEARING OF DR. POTZLER’S SUDDEN PASSING. WE PRAYED SO HARD FOR THE COMPLETE REMISSION OF HIS CANCER AND BELIEVED GOD HAD ANSWERED THE PRAYERS OF ALL OF US THAT WANTED HIM TO CONTINUE HIS INVALUABLE SERVICE HERE ON EARTH. THOSE PRECIOUS MONTHS AFTER HIS RETURN FROM TREATMENT WERE TRULY SPECIAL AND NOW GOD HAS CALLED HIM HOME
THANK YOU ALL FOR SHARING THIS REMARKABLE MAN WITH US AND PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. DR POTZLER IS LOOKING DOWN ON US WHILE GOD IS SAYING TO HIM, “WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT”.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND COMFORT YOU.
    SINCERELY,
    JOHN BUGLEWICZ
