Mark Joseph Mencin, 61, born, Aug. 17, 1953, in Pueblo, passed away April 22, 2015, in Colorado Springs. Survived by his wife, Cheryl Facchini-Mencin; son, Andrew Mencin and fiancé, Brooke Stinnett; brother, John (Ann) Mencin; sister, Cyndy (John) Barkowski; nieces, nephews, great niece, great nephews and his brothers from the heart, John Day, Mel Faricy, Gayton Cardinale, Roger Quintana, Mike Sinchak, Jack Phelps and Jack Hinton. Preceded in death by his father, Milan Mencin; mother, Metoda Mencin-Peterson; and mother-in-law, Eva Facchini. Mark worked for Golf Enviro Systems in sales and was a golf course superintendent for many years. His passions in life were his family, friends, his dogs, his Harleys and his Mexico trips. Rosary and funeral Mass, 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at St. Mary Church, 307 E. Mesa Ave. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery.     As your neighbors for many years, we were very sad to hear of Mark\’s passing. Mark was truly a nice person and a great neighbor. Please know that you are in our prayers for peace and courage in the Lord through this tough time.

  2. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I had the great pleasure of working with Mark during his time with Embassy Lawn & Landscaping. Mark was an amazing employee but more than that a great person. We will forever be grateful for his contributions and blessed for having him in our lives.

Mark serviced our turf needs for many years during my time at Sky Sox and Academy Little League. I will truly miss his friendship. Rest in peace dear friend.

  6. I am so very sorry and saddened by Mark’s passing. I first met Mark when I arrived in the USA from the UK in 1997 and we maintained contact through our profession. Mark never ever failed to encourage and help me for 18 years thereafter. Truly a fine man. We’ll meet again.
