Marjorie Buxton Lodwick, 89, a Pueblo resident since 2006, died at her home Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013. Preceded in death by her husband, James Lodwick; parents, Harold and Martha Buxton; and granddaughter, Karen Hufton. Survived by her children, Brynn (Larry) Hufton and James (Mary Kay) Lodwick, Jr.; grandchildren, David and Donna Hufton, Marjie and Carter Lodwick; sister, Barbara Snyder; sister-in-law, Jean Lodwick; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marjorie was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Indianapolis, Ind. She served in the Navy as a WAVE from 1944-1946. After graduating from Midwestern College in Denison, Iowa, she taught Language Arts for 20 years at Manning Middle School in Iowa. Marj was a member of PEO, AAUW, Friday Club and Iowa Retired School Personnel Association. She was a kind person with a good sense of humor who always preferred to see the positive in life. Marj played bridge and loved to travel throughout the world. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Scientist. The family would like to thank Wynwood Brookdale Senior Living and Frontier Hospice for their wonderful care. A graveside service will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Denison, Iowa. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to First Church of Christ, Scientist, or to Frontier Hospice, both in Pueblo, through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N.
