Marilee Torpey, 89, passed away May 6, 2019, after a brief illness. Survived by her husband of 69 years, Joseph Torpey; her children, Michael (Peggy) of Pueblo and Melanie (John McCarthy) of Gunnison. Preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Elsie (née Medill) Cook. Marilee, a Pueblo native, was a graduate of Pueblo Central and Western State where she earned her teacher's license. She spent her career as a teacher at Highland Park Elementary School. She loved gardening and was an active member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Monday, May 13, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 4121 Nature Center Rd., Pueblo, 81003. So sorry to learn of the passing of Marilee. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and always had a sweet smile on her face. The students whose lives she touched should feel very fortunate to have had her as their second grade teacher! I thoroughly enjoyed teaching with her at Highland Park School !
