Resided in: Pueblo, Colorado

Marianne Helene Voute (nee Tell), 77, passed away Feb. 5, 2019, after a long and painful struggle. Marianne was born Dec. 10, 1941, in Berlin, Germany. She survived the Nazis, the daily night and daytime bombardments of the Western Allies and the Soviet occupation. She was lucky to have lived in what became the American Sector of West Berlin. Marianne is survived by children, Gaston and Tatjana; and younger sister, Sabine all of Germany; and husband, Michael. Preceded in death by her first husband; and older sister. After high school, she actively pursued a career in nursing, interning at the American Army Hospital in Berlin and later in various hospitals in West Germany. After a year as an au pair in Saint-Germaine-en-Laye near Paris, where she perfected her French and learned the French cuisine, Marianne married a German-American mill engineer and lived and worked in the Schleswig-Holstein and Rhineland areas of West Germany. She capped her career as Director of Nursing in an all male, two hundred bed psychiatric hospital in Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle) run by Alexian Brothers. In 1992, she followed her husband Michael to the United States, where she became a U.S. citizen. The couple lived in New Mexico, Texas and Colorado. In every town where she lived, she volunteered to serve at hospices, the last one being Frontier in Pueblo. Marianne was cremated at Montgomery & Steward Crematorium and interred at the family plot at Mountain View Cemetery. She will be sorely missed, especially by her loving husband.
