Marian M. Mendenhall Cornell Putnam, 97, passed away Feb. 2, 2010. Survived by her nephew, Terry Mendenhall; nieces, Lita Mendenhall and Janet Hatton; great nieces, Kiera, Elizabeth, Heather and Amber; great-nephews, Phillip, Joel, Joe and Lex; great-grand niece, Midori; a special stepdaughter, Dolores (Bob) Yarbrough; step-grandchildren, Vicky, Deedee, Theresa, Tara and Darren; and six step great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her two husbands, Gerald Cornell and LeRoy Putnam; her parents; sister, Anna; three brothers, Ralph, Porter and Mark; sisters-in-law, Samantha and Daisy. Marian was born May 27, 1912, in Caldwell, Kans. to Russell and Alta Mendenhall. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, always active in music, member of O. E. S., a graduate R.N. and a member of the American Red Cross. At her request, there will be no viewing. Cremation at Montgomery & Steward Crematorium has taken place. Memorial service, 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb.6, 2010, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Rick Calhoun officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Caldwell Cemetery, Caldwell, Kan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ARC or Frontier Hospice, through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, Colo. 81003.     My condolences to you on the loss of Marian. My favorite memories of her will be the the Three Kings picture on her wall, her descriptions of the different nativity sets she had, and the way she spoke so lovingly about her family and friends. She blessed my life in the short time I knew and visited with her. God bless you all and know you are in my prayers.
