Margaret (Kirkland) Billings, 86, passed away September 23, 2000, in Bulverde, Texas. Resident of Pueblo, Colorado for forty-nine years, spending the last few years in Bulverde. Born May 29, 1914, in Pearsall, Texas to Daniel and Elizabeth Kirkland. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin D. Billings; sisters, Flora Thurman and Mary Gibson; brothers, Daniel H. Kirkland and Moritz C. Kirkland. Survived by her sister, Frances Kirkland of Bulverde, Texas; sister-in-law, Elsie Kirkland; nephews, Dan (Darla) Kirkland, Jim (Mary) Kirkland, Pat (Deanne) Gibson; nieces, Yvonne (Ray) Youngren, Joyce Bradley, Helen Fred, Beth Dale Brown; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. She will lie in state at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2000, at the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with Pastor Richard Messer officiating. Interment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow the interment at Imperial Courtesy Hall. Those who desire may make memorials to American Lung Association or Animal Welfare through the funeral home.
