M. Lorraine Pike, 84, passed away March 11, 2012. Survived by her earth Angel, Sam Reniker; son, Bill Pike of Colorado Springs and his ex-wife, Jewelie Pike of Seattle; granddaughters, Elizabeth Pike (Brian) Thorpe of Colorado Springs and Lisa Pike (Sergeant Mike) Jones of Lawton, Okla.; brother, James (Donna) Maxey of Canon City and their sons, Dan Maxey of Austin Texas and Doug Maxey of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Sondra Cobb of Denver; two grandchildren, Cami Sebern of Estes Park and Dayna Colvin of Pueblo; niece, Lois (Charles) Storm and their children, Sandy McGoff, Jim Storm and Chris Bettiga; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins; special family friend, Shirley Sullivan of Colorado Springs.
Preceded in death by her husband, F.W. Pike; parents, James O. and Anna Gleich Maxey; stepmother, Edythe Maxey; and nephew, David Maxey.
Lorraine was born March 5, 1928, in Denver. She owned and operated Pike Accounting along with Lois Storm for more than 55 years. She loved all her many clients through three generations of income tax and general accounting. She was a member of ABWA, Eagles and Red Hats Society and a 74 year member of American Legion Auxiliary.
Viewing from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Service, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, 11th & Court St., with the Rev. Dr. Rick Calhoun and Rev. Melinda Baber officiating. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens. My condolences to Lorraine’s family. She will be missed by all who knew her. I will miss her calling me “honey” when she spoke or saw me, but I think Lorraine called a lot of us “Honey”. Her decorated walker that she would be so proud of when people would tell her how cute it was. Lorraine was one fine lady. She loved everyone and she was one who let you know what she was thinking. Rest now Lorraine. You will never be forgotten.
