Luciano Louie' Barela

Luciano 'Louie' Barela, 84, passed away Mar. 8, 2017. Survived by wife, Martha Barela; children, Stella (Richard) Medina, Luciano Barela, Jr., Phil (Julie) Barela, Ray Barela, Ed (Anita) Barela, Steve Barela and Patti (Donovan) Gomez; special granddaughters, Melanie (Rosendo) Mondragon and Savannah Gomez; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; siblings, Emma Molina and Benny Barela; and grandson, Jimbob Portillos. Louie was born to Felipe and Inez Barela on Apr. 3, 1932, in Johnstown, Colo. He retired after 46 ½ years with Summit Brick. Louie enjoyed being with his family, camping, fishing and going to Cripple Creek. Special thank you to Vince and Jonathan with Sangre de Cristo Hospice.
