Louis DeNardo, 84, passed away August 7, 2000. Louis was born to Nick Joseph and Pauline (née Silvio) DeNardo on December 28, 1915, in Pueblo, Colorado. Louis married Mary Antonette DeGrado on January 22, 1937. They have one son, Nick (Alice) DeNardo; granddaughters, Jolene DeNardo and Roxann DeNardo Duncan, both of Denver; step-grandchildren, Rick, Deb and Curt Vawter, all of Pueblo; great grandchildren, Rachelle, Marcus, Michael and Reigh Ann Duncan, all of Denver; step-great grandchildren, Jacob and John Paul Campbell, Mallori, Casey and Adam Vawter, all of Pueblo. Also survived by his brother, John (Mary Eva) DeNardo; sister, Virginia (Ray) Plowman; brother-in-law, Russel Pantleo, all of Pueblo; sisters-in-law, Ann Martinelli of California and JoAnn Lenzini of Denver; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sam; and sisters, Mary Fisher and Mayme DeGrado. Louis retired from C.F.&I. in 1976 after 39 years of service. He was a member of Local 2102 Retired Steelworkers, Eagles Arie No. 145; B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 90 and La Familia Italiana. After his retirement he enjoyed tending his yard, going fishing and gambling trips with his family. He will lie in state at the funeral home today from noon until 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends and relatives from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 10, 2000, at Our Lady Of The Assumption, 900 E. Routt, with Reverend Father Edward Pettit as Celebrant. The family respectfully requests the omission of food and asks that donations be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice in Louis' name through the funeral home.
