Lilly Dell Purvis Sandidge, 92, passed away at her home in Pueblo, Colorado, on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. (“Dick”) Sandidge, her parents Marvin and Emma Purvis, and her five siblings. She graduated from Clinton (MS) High School in 1947. Lilly and Dick were married on December 25, 1948. As an Air Force wife, Lilly lived in Denver, Colorado; Washington D.C.; New Delhi, India; Orlando, Florida; Little Rock, Arkansas; Upper Heyford, England; Bangor, Maine; and Biloxi, Mississippi. In 1967 they retired to Clinton, Mississippi where they lived until moving to Pueblo, Colorado in 1997. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and a volunteer at Parkview Medical Center. She and Dick had been married for 61 years when he passed away in 2010. Lilly is survived by her son Rick (Jeannie) Sandidge of Pueblo, daughter Teresa (Bill) O’Hair of Springfield, OH; grandchildren Austin Caudle of Guntersville, AL, Lindsay (Chris) Slobodnik of Pueblo, Mike (Tara) Sandidge of Chandler, AZ, and Caitlin O’Hair of Austin, TX. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family offers sincere thanks to St. Mary Corwin Hospital, Dr. Christopher Vialpando, Primrose Retirement Community Assisted Living staff, and Sangre de Christo Hospice. Viewing from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Service, 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2022, in the Chapel at Primrose Retirement Community. Interment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens in Pueblo. In lieu of food or flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice, 1920 Valley Dr., Pueblo, COP 81008.
