Lila R. Gradisar, 86, passed away Dec. 30, 2012. Survived by children, Nicholas (Jan Pullin) Gradisar, Ray (Larissa Bourgeault) Gradisar and Kay (Mark) Stark, all of Pueblo, Colo., Greg Gradisar, Keyport, Wash., and Mary Jean (Andy Medvec) Gradisar, Parker, Colo.; siblings, Irvin (Joyce) Fletcher, Sharon (Paul) Fletcher Abbott; in-laws, Charles Smith, Doris Fletcher, Francis Gradisar, Gabriel (Mary Lou) Gradisar, Ann Lennon, Marge Gradisar, Ramona Gradisar, Jane Gradisar; grandchildren, Tracy (Angelo) Mosco, Douglas (Johanna Woelfel) Gradisar, Mike (Chrystal) Stark, Rusty (Heather) Stark, Natalie (Nicholas Schenk) Gradisar, Emily (Michael) Fowler, Hannah (Matt Whalen) Gradisar-Whalen; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Hazel Fletcher; husband, Anthony F. 'Slim' Gradisar; siblings, Don Fletcher, Lola Fletcher and Minnie Smith. Lila was born Nov. 21, 1926, on a farm near Hamlet, Nebraska. She was Valedictorian at Wauneta High School, graduated St. Luke's Nursing School, was employed as a registered nurse in Pueblo, including private duty nursing, public school nursing and at the Colorado State Hospital. She retired as an administrator from Pueblo Regional Center. Lila was a charter member of the Southern Colorado Runners Club and when injuries prevented her from running, she organized Pueblo Senior Walkers. She was a volunteer for SRDA, Governor's Employee of the Month and active in the Democratic Party. She was a lifelong learner and her organizing skills were in high demand by her family, community and candidates for office. She was a prize winning baker extraordinaire. Lila was a vibrant dynamic woman, who had many passions and interests, but her greatest love was her family and the time spent with them. The family home was the site of celebrations for all of life's events. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial Mass, 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, Holy Family Church, 2827 Lakeview Ave, Pueblo, CO. In lieu of food or flowers, memorials may be made through the funeral home office to SRDA or HARP Foundation for the establishment of a Senior Walker bench on the Pueblo River Walk in Lila's memory. I will always remember Lila…she was an amazing, vibrant woman and role model. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
