LeRoy F. Furney, age 84, born December 23, 1916, in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, lived in Pueblo most of his life, and passed away April 5, 2001, in Thousand Oaks, California. He is survived by his sons, Mike (Marie), Tim, Jon, Bill (Jana Selph);
daughter, Mary; sister, Delores Beal (Daniel 'Sonny'); brother, Lloyd; granddaughters, Michele Saunders, Marlo Furney; grandson, Michael Jay Furney; and great-grandson, Corwin Furney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy
and Marie Furney, brothers, Richard 'Gene' and Jerry Furney. LeRoy retired from the Pueblo Army Depot in 1979 after more than 30 years of service there. He was also a World War II veteran, where, according to his own calculations, he spent
'three years, seven months and twenty-eight days' in the Army Air Corps. His ready humor and rascally orneriness will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 11, at Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 12, at Fort Logan National Cemetery
in Denver. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Colorado Talking Book
Library in care of the funeral home.
IN ALL THE TROUBLES THAT OUR FAMILY HAD PERSONELLY I DID NOT CONDONE THE PIDLY FIGHTS THAT LEROY AND MY DAD GOT INTO BUT I HOPE THAT ALL IS WELL NOW AND GOD BE THE JUDGE.
