Leonard W. 'Joe' Allen, 83, passed away Oct. 1, 2005. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 13, 1922. He is survived by is wife, Rosemary; children, Kathy (Lary) Knox, and Jim, Bob, Barb and Joe Allen; grandchildren, Brad (Yvette) Knox, Justin Knox, Katie, Kelly and Ross Allen, Beth and Sarah Stanifer; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan and Ben. Preceded in death by sons, Ed and Dave; and grandchild, Shane. Joe served in the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet during WWII and was a graduate of Miami University of Ohio. He retired from the brick and tile industry. He loved dogs, the outdoors, to ride his bike, and limeades. He is remembered for his quick wit and snappy remarks. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial Mass, 2 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2005, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 11th & Grand, with the Reverend Father Ron Roche as celebrant and a celebration of his life will follow. The family respectfully requests the omission of flowers and food. Those who desire may make memorials to the SRDA Senior Vision Program through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N.     I was Kathy’s classmate at Centennial. I was also Joe’s paperboy as an 11-12 year old, and I remember your Dad as a friendly, nice guy to a kid delivering papers for the first time.
