Laurine Isabel Vest, 94, of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away August 29, 2005. Survived by her children, Nyla Jean McElroy of Longmont, Colorado and Donald R.(Rose) Vest of Pueblo; grandchildren, Lisa Beth (Chris) Bertrand of Longmont, Colorado and David (Dayna) Lee of Hawaii; and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Vest and parents, Charles A and Laura Ellen Stage. Laurine was born December 20, 1910, in Anthony, Kansas. Laurine was the founder and owner of Laurine's Flowers. She was a fifty year member of First Baptist Church, having been active as a Deaconess in the music department and the Win-One-Sunday School Class. She was a participant in several music clubs and circles. Laurine enjoyed her membership in Pueblo Chapter No. 7 O.E.S., PEO Chapter AU, Monday Music Club, and her affiliation with Citrus Sisters music group. Her life was filled with music, art, and laughter. She loved to give programs consisting of reading and music accompanied by her dear friend, Leona Zimmerman. In addition to music, she enjoyed painting and was a fine artist having studied with several teachers including Kyle Bunch. At her request, there will be no viewing. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2005, at the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with the Reverend James Harley officiating, concluding with an Eastern Star Service.
