Kathleen Rita (Bartlett) Pocius

Kathleen Rita (Bartlett) Pocius. Born June 26, 1984. Died July 17, 2015, as the result of a lightning strike while descending Mt. Yale in Buena Vista, Colorado. Beautiful, compassionate, funny, intelligent…a red headed free spirit! At the time of her death, Katie was a preschool teacher for special needs students at STARS Early Learning Center in Commerce City, Colorado. Recently married, she and her husband, Ryan enjoyed the outdoors, and many activities in the mountains of Colorado. Much loved by her husband, family, friends, students, and those whose lives she touched, we are forever grateful for the time we were given with her. Survived by her husband, Ryan, and their beloved cat, Sere; her parents, Pat and Jack Bartlett of Ocean Isle, North Carolina, her brother, Nathan (Yuliana) and their daughter, Sophia; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Randy and Mary Jo Pocius of Pueblo, Colorado; brother-in-law, Adam and his sons, Ashton and Carson of Pueblo, Colorado. Grandparents, godparents, and numerous extended family members and friends also grieve her loss, and celebrate her life! There will be no viewing and there will be no public services.
