Julaine Hurst Moore, 80, passed away Sept. 9, 2019, surrounded by her husband and children after a 13 year battle with stage-4 lung cancer. She will be remembered as the center of her family and an endless source of love and strength, determination and encouragement. Julaine was born April 13, 1939, in Ogden, Utah, the second child of Myrtle Geneva Pierce and Vard Linden Hurst. She married John Bennett Moore, Jr. on August 8, 1958, in the Salt Lake Latter-day Saints Temple. They were together for 61 years. Preceded in death by parents; older brother, V. Linden Hurst; and brother-in-law, Harold A.B. Gardiner. Survived by husband; children, Nancy (Matthew) Jones, Mary (Michael) Lucero and Jay (Linda) Moore; siblings and their spouses, Darlene Hurst, Janet Gardiner, Roger and Anita Hurst, Ralph and Barbara Hurst and Steve and Patricia Carver; ten grandchildren, Brandon and Angel Ross, Julaine Kylee Jones, Hannalyn Jones, Margaret Julaine Moore, Zachary and Christina Jones, Tanner Moore, Elder Wilkin Jones, Sophia Moore, Camille Moore and Calvin Moore; and one great-grandchild, Lydia Julaine Jones. Viewing, 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 144 S. Abarr Dr., Pueblo West. Dear John and Mary,
Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear wife and mother. Such a strong, exceptional woman, to have fought cancer for so many years.
