  1. To the family of Nita,
I remember fondly how she took a 17 year old under her wing in the Pueblo Symphony Chorale in 1978 and was THE BEST chaparone a kid could have through Austria and West Germany with Gerhardt. Her musical talent will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Her warm smile and kind words went a long way to make me feel special any time we met up. I will miss her very, very much.
    With all my love,

  4. Our condolences to your family. I meet Nita and George back in the late 60’s. My brother, sister and I were their paper carriers for 10 or 12 years. My wife, Terry and I truly believe she has gone home to a better place. My father, Vernon, passed 9 years ago this month. He and my mother, Kate were also neighborhood friends. My wifes father, Lyle DeRungs, and George went out for coffee a lot. Nita worked with his wife Shirley at the old Columbia Savings. From the DeRungs, and Engler family to your family … our thoughts are with you.

  5. My sincere sympathy on the loss of Nita. We met at church in Wichita, Ks. She then became our neighbor. I worked with Nita on many projects in those years. We always found a way to learn, love, care and hope. When my daughter wanted to learn to fly, Nita and George guided her first steps. They also introduced her to my son-in-law. Nita gave everything 100% and I am blessed to have known her and her family.
Peace be with all of you.
