Joseph F. Rose, 63, born Jan. 11, 1940, in Pueblo, Colorado passed away Dec. 26, 2003, in Pueblo. Survived by his son, Joey (Mickie McAtee) Rose of Pueblo; siblings, Clara Indenbaum of Bridgeport, Conn., Ralph (Peggy) Rose of Pueblo and Josephine (Sam J.) Cortese of Pueblo; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Martina. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Nancy Rose; sister, Ann (Mike) Giglio; and his beloved Shannon 'Shanzy' Rose. Service, 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with Deacon Philip Reynolds officiating.
I was very saddened at hearing of Joe’s passing. I got to know him during my time as the announcer at Pueblo Greyhound Park. He was one of those people I’ve been blessed by getting to know, if only on a casual basis. Joe always had a warm smile, friendly hand shake and a kind word when I would see him. He was one of the people I truly missed seeing when I left the track. May God bless him and give him the comfort of His loving touch. Thanks Joe, I’ll never forget you.
