John Liner Walker, 81, passed away Oct. 8, 2018. Survived by wife, Barbara Jewel Walker; daughters, Laura Smith and Lanette (Ken) Cid; four grandchildren, Shavone Smith, Nathan Smith, Daniel Cid and Abigail Cid; and one great-grandson, Gabriel Murillo. Preceded in death by mother, Etta Walker; brother, Loyd Walker; sister, Beatrice Harris; father-in-law, Don Peats, Sr.; and mother-in-law, Edith Peats. John was born in 1937, in Ruston, La. He was a principal of Craver Middle School and a teacher at Vineland Middle School. John enjoyed reading and studying his Bible and history and enjoyed working outside with trees, plants and flowers. He was a member of Pueblo First Church of the Nazarene. Viewing, from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Funeral service, 10 A.M. So sorry to read of John’s passing. He was another of the wonderful principals who served in Dist. 70. May God hold all of you tightly in His arms at this most difficult time, and may the heaven’s rejoice at John’s arrival. Praying for and thinking about all of you at this time.
