John A. Garnett, 90, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, family, dedication and service that will continue through the many lives he touched.

John was married to the love of his life Gloria Garnett for 70 years. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, cherished memories, and family. Their enduring marriage was a beautiful testament to devotion, partnership and a lifetime shared side by side. John was a loving father to Kim Garnett (Darryl Miller), Kevin Garnett (David Salter), Tim Garnett (Terri) and Terry Garnett. He took great pride in his family and treasured the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His grandchildren, Brandon Montgomery (Brooke), Ashlee Montgomery, Kristen Garnett and Kori Mukayess (Samer), Tony Gee-Gunderson (Anne) and Nick Gee-Salter brought him great joy. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Silas Sallaberry, Gabriel Sallaberry, Sophie Mukayess, Kole Mukayess and Jordan Gee-Salter. His family was among his greatest accomplishments and his most treasured gift. John dedicated his career to education and public service as an Administrator for Pueblo School District 60. Through his work, he contributed to the education and well-being of generations of students and families in the Pueblo community. His commitment, leadership, and years of service left a meaningful and lasting mark. Outside of work and family, John enjoyed golf, a hobby that brought both he and Gloria many hours of relaxation, enjoyment, and time to appreciate the game he loved. John was preceded in death by his parents, Helen M. and Raymond Garnett, and his siblings Marylou Gradisar, Robert Garnett, Raymond Garnett, Thomas Garnett and James Garnett. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren John is also survived by his sister Jane Garnett; his sisters-in-law Doris Garnett and Kathy Garnett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Those who knew John will remember him not only for his professional accomplishments, but also for the love he had for his family and the lasting impact he had on everyone around him. His 90 years were filled with purpose, devotion, and relationships that will carry his memory forward.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered and forever cherished by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
