Joel David Strasser, 64, passed away at the Joni Fair Hospice House in Pueblo, Colo. on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016. He had been fighting cancer for many years & had spent his last year in the care of hospice.
Joel was born on April 7, 1952. He was an attorney dealing mainly with social security disability. He was a musician who sang and played guitar as well as other instruments. He performed with many bands and sang with several barbershop quartets. He loved life and had many friends.
Joel was married to Elizabeth Strasser for 34 years. Joel had two daughters; two stepdaughters; and one stepson; as well as many grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their care and compassion during Joel's last year. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Sangre de Cristo Hospice, 1207 Pueblo Blvd Way, Pueblo, CO 81005. Joel loved life and will be missed by all. I always loved to hear Joel play and sing – it brought sunshine to everyone who heard him.
Joel was one of the bravest people I ever met. He continued singing his songs, playing bridge and loving his wife through his pain and illness. I am will miss him. Norma Jean Wilson.
