Joe Lain Sterling, 75, of Pueblo, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 9, 2013. He was born Oct. 30, 1937, in Gloster, Miss. Joe loved life and always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed snowmobiling, his trips to Cripple Creek, but most of all seeing his grandchildren. He proudly retired after 33 years from Colorado Interstate Natural Gas where he served in numerous supervising positions. Joe served two years in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Carson where he met his wife, June, of 50 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Omer; mother, Marjorie; and his brother, Kim. Joe is survived by his wife, June; daughter, Linda (Jeff) Capito; son, Jeff (Michelle) Sterling; grandchildren, Peyton, Rylee, Braxton and Kennedy; sisters, Rose (Lawrence) Hinton, Joyce (Tom) Perry, Peggy McCreight, Dit (Chuck) Bryant; along with numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral Service, 2 p.m. Thursday, March 14, First United Methodist Church, 310 W.11th St. Military honors performed by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team. In lieu of food or flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joe L. Sterling Memorial Account at Ent FCU, 300 West 5th Street, Pueblo, CO 81003, for the grandchildren's trust fund.   3. June, I remember Joe from my childhood, living in the same Busy Corner, MS community and have many fond memories of him. Always happy, laughing, smiling, friendly to everyone.
